10th August 2015 / Mark Fletcher: Fletchers Group News Update 10 August

Despite the grey skies and chilly weather, over 900 metropolitan properties went to auction on Saturday. Auction numbers were 51% up on the same weekend last year, in large part because many in the Chinese community view transacting on the eighth day of the eighth month as lucky.

The REIV reported a clearance rate of 79% over the weekend with 860 auctions reported, 680 of those selling under the hammer. In the month of July, there were 2,700 auctions, up 14% from the same time last year.

Fletchers eastern suburbs office network achieved a success rate of 73%. It was a very busy weekend for our agents, with 35 auctions scheduled, with just one selling prior.
