Fletchers Group News Update – 10 July

July 10th 2013

There was a little relief from the cold last weekend, with the sun shining on auction day. Due to the school holidays auction numbers were down, however Fletchers still achieved some good results.

The REIV recorded a clearance rate of 71 per cent compared to 58 per cent on the same weekend last year.  Fletchers performed above industry average achieving a clearance rate of 75 per cent.

Nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac, the renovated and extended three bedroom clinker brick home at 6 Godfrey Court in Surrey Hills was a great sale for agents Graeme Keogh and Gail Logan. Offering three bedrooms, sleek and stylish kitchen, rear alfresco, in-ground pool and exemplary front and rear gardens this home is presented to a superior standard with attention to detail evident in every aspect of the home and garden. These impressive qualities proved too good to miss, with the property selling before auction for $1,200,000.

Offering a very alluring lifestyle in a tranquil and desirable locale, the single level villa unit at 6/180 Surrey Road in Blackburn is a perfect for first home buyers, downsizers and investors. Close to Blackbrn Primary and High School, North Blackburn shopping centre and transport and offering two bedrooms, bright kitchen and a sunny courtyard this property has everything you could ask for and more! In a fantastic sales for agent Brooke Warwick and Director and Auctioneer Tim Heavyside, this property sold on the weekend for $420,000.

The REIV is expecting 360 auctions to be called next weekend.

In other news, agents Mark Fletcher and James Bateman will be volunteering their services this weekend at the Islet Cell Transplant Fundraising dinner at the Box Hill Golf Club being held by Patricia and Bill Snell. James will be MC for the night and Mark will be auctioning off some items! The night will raise much needed funds for the Islet Cell Transplant Program at St Vincent’s Institute of Medical Research.
