Fletchers Group News Update – 11 April

April 10th 2013

The year certainly seems to be flying by and we find ourselves well into April and building towards a number of busy auction weekends.

With the school holidays still on, auction numbers have been relatively low however the residential auction market continues to perform on trend. The REIV recorded a clearance rate of 58 per cent on the weekend and expects around 570 auctions to be called across the upcoming weekend.

Fletchers performed exceptionally well on auction day, achieving a 100 per cent success rate with multiple bidders at every auction! There were certainly a number of highlights throughout the day.

Fletchers Whitehorse Director, Rob Sheahan had an impressive day, which included selling 195 Blackburn Road in Blackburn for $665,000. His vendors were absolutely buzzing, thrilled with the result which was $85,000 above reserve! Five bidders competed for the opportunity to secure the attractive, three bedroom clinker brick home.

Stephanie Michael and Jason Salan from Fletchers Manningham sold the serene, single level villa unit at 3/1 Colite Street, Bulleen for $420,000 – another auction that enticed five bidders to get involved!

Brooke Warwick and Tim Heavyside’s vendors of 4 Koala Avenue in Nunawading were delighted that a total of seven bidders vied for the opportunity to secure the fully renovated home. The property sold for $647,000 – over their reserve price by $47,000!

Prue Wittison and Nathan Foley from Fletchers Diamond Valley sold the two bedroom unit at 1/5 Lyell Parade, Greensborough prior to the scheduled auction. Boasting light-filled, open plan living and neat, tidy gardens the low maintenance unit is ideally located close to transport, local schools and parklands.

Last Friday night, some of the Fletchers crew attended Skilling Australia Foundation’s fundraising auction night. The Foundation will directly benefit disadvantaged Australians who have commenced or are about to commence their Apprenticeship or Traineeship through either tuition fee relief for disadvantaged recipients or short overseas scholarships for identified high achievers. Tim Heavyside lent his services as auctioneer for the night, conduction seven auctions in total and raising an incredible $15,000!

Next weekend the REIV expects around 570 auctions…stayed tuned on Fletchers social media for updates over the weekend!

Enjoy the rest of your week!
