It seemed like we experienced all four seasons over the weekend. It was sunny and warm one minute and downpours and overcast the next!

The REIV reported a clearance rate of 74% over the weekend with 1,092 auctions scheduled, 805 of those selling. Auction numbers are still strong, with two consecutive Super Saturdays over the coming fortnight, before a brief respite for Melbourne Cup.

Fletchers network of offices achieved a clearance rate of 74% over the weekend. It was a strong result from over 25 auctions that were scheduled for the weekend.

Offering lifestyle and location, 1/39 Kemp Street in Mount Waverley was up for auction over the weekend. The near new, four bedroom town residence is located in a coveted pocket of Mount Waverley moments from shops, transport and located within the highly desirable Mount Waverley Secondary School Zone. Thoughtfully crafted, this home features polished timber floorboards, contemporary fixtures, open plan living/dining and a sunny north facing courtyard garden and a covered deck. Auction day saw five eager bidders all seeking to purchase a new home. Bidding helped the property reach $153,000 over reserve – selling for $1.173 million.

In Box Hill South, 17 Devon Street offered a highly desirable family home in a beautiful tree-lined street. This renovated period home retains many of its elegant traditions, from polished timber floors, ornate ceilings roses and formal lounge and dining room with open fireplace. Offering four bedrooms, a gleaming new kitchen with stainless steel appliances and open plan living area, the indoor appeal matches the outdoor allure. A covered north deck and lush garden at the rear of the home is perfect for enjoying the outdoors. A peaceful hideaway that is nestled in a position renowned for its life style advantages, there were five bidders at auction all keen to take advantage of the premiere locale. Reaching $280,000 over reserve, this period home sold for $1.58 million!

In Hawthorn East, the semi-detached brick maisonette at 8 Fairmount Road offered charm and character with pristine original features that are ready to be restored. With touches of art deco styling throughout, this two bedroom home has been well preserved and offered stunning floor boards waiting to be polished, generous living/dining room, and kitchen and bathroom with potential for partial or full modernisation. On auction day there were four bidders ready to restore this home; bidding reached an impressive $1.090 million.

It was guaranteed to impress the most discerning of prospective purchasers, but then again it is no surprise for the smart and stylish home at 1/17 Esdale Street in Blackburn. Renovated throughout, the weatherboard home sits at the front of subdivided block in a serene and leafy street. Offering three bedrooms, open plan lounge/dining, suave stone bathroom, gourmet kitchen with stone benches, ehe indoor accommodation blends seamlessly with the sun filled north facing garden that boasts a large deck and low maintenance landscaping. The ever popular locale of this home drew a crowd which included four serious bidders. The property eventually sold for $811,000.

It achieved a final sale price of $655,000.

In Eltham, 16 Banks Road also went to auction. Combining recycled and natural materials, the home showcases modern and rustic elements, a stunning kitchen with granite benchtops, living area with open fireplace and bi fold doors that open top a private elevated deck with treetop vista. It was competitive auction and the home sold for $1.21 million.
