13th July 2015 / Jack Peng: Fletchers Group News Update 13 July

It was a damp and extremely cold weekend, but intermittent rain didn't deter eager buyers. The dismal weather looks like it's here to stay for the week so it is important to rug up!

The REIV reported a clearance rate of 77 per cent over the weekend, with 502 auctions reported and 387 selling. Auction numbers are expected to increase over the next fortnight, with on average 750 scheduled in each of the next two weekends.

Fletchers Eastern suburbs offices achieved a success rate of 75%, another solid result despite the seasonal slowdown in volume.

An excellent foundation for a fabulous family future, 25 Devon Drive in Blackburn North offered buyers a superb floorplan and convenient location close to schools, shops and transport. With three bedrooms, formal and informal living areas, a modern kitchen and large covered alfresco deck, the accommodation on offer provides brilliant family spaces. The auction got underway with four keen bidders participating. The property sold for $1.070 million under the hammer, a great result for all involved.

In Balwyn North, 66 Sutton Street attracted plenty of attention with its prized position. The four bedroom two storey home is located within the Balwyn High School Zone and features spacious and light living areas, large rumpus and an enclosed alfresco dining/entertaining area. The location, combined with its family friendly floorplan, saw four bidders fiercely competing to secure the property. The vendors were extremely happy with the fantastic sale price achieved by agent Jack Peng and the team. The successful purchasers are looking forward to calling 66 Sutton Street home!

Prospective purchasers were pleasantly surprised when they arrived at the private driveway of 2/1 Lemon Road in Balwyn North. This home is conveniently located only minutes from schools, shops and transport. Five bidders got the bidding going with the property easily reaching over our vendor's reserve. The villa home sold for an impressive $1.116 million.

Located in a boutique development, 7/411-413 Highbury Road in Burwood is feature packed, yet low-maintenance. They say "no man is an island", but what about the opportunity to own an island?

Ninth Island, the namesake of the popular Tasmanian wine brand, was up for grabs at the boardroom of our head office in Canterbury. Nestled just 11 kilometres from the north-eastern coast of Tasmania, two bidders sought to call it their own.

Negotiations continue, but Ninth Island is still officially for the taking for anyone in the market for a little piece of Australia…
