17th July 2012: Fletchers Group News Update – 18 July

The news of the week so far has brought us sniping between Labor and the Greens, more asylum seeker boats and the premiere of controversial 'dramality' TV show 'The Shire', which threw social media into a complete frenzy!

The REIV recorded a clearance rate of 61 per cent, on another reasonably quiet winter weekend for the state and across Australia, as school holidays came to an end. The REIV released its June quarter median prices, which provides an update of where the real estate market is up to in Melbourne, and wider in Victoria. It showed that the market has been rather subdued, but that prices are rather stable over the first six months of the year.

Fletchers have put together our Quarterly Market Report for Winter 2012, bringing you the latest real estate sales and property management news. Executive Chairman, Tim Fletcher reports on the latest observations in the marketplace, noting that demand has remained fairly constant, with some outstanding results achieved. Today we will cheer on Senior Associate and Auctioneer, Jeremy Tyrrell as he competes as one of five finalists in the REIV Senior Auctioneers competition. Jeremy will put in a fantastic effort as always, and we look forward to hearing the result!

In other news, we have recently posted some job opportunities on our website, so if you or anyone you know of is interested in working at Fletchers, visit our employment page.
