19th May 2014 / Bradley Brown: Fletchers Group News Update – 19 May

We have really been feeling very lucky to have such gorgeous weather this week in Melbourne…just hoping that it doesn't disappear too quickly!

The REIV recorded a clearance rate of 72%, compared to 68% last weekend. They report that after today's results more than 9,000 homes have been sold at auction so far this year, compared to about 7,000 this time last year.

An impressive six bidders turned up for the auction at 15 Verbena Street in Blackburn North, the tasteful renovation and convenient location proving to be extremely popular. A fantastic home to raise a family in, it sold for $935,000 – well over reserve in another great result for Rob Sheahan.

Boasting the capacity to entertain on any scale, the home at 13 Cityview Road in Balwyn North not only offered substantial, elegant living, but also a premium location within the coveted Balwyn High School zone. Four bidders were involved until the home eventually sold under the hammer for exactly $2 million – an excellent result!

Director and Auctioneer, Ben Williams also had his hands full, fielding bids from five parties at the auction of 4 Pratico Court in Forest Hill. With a touch of country charm, the three bedroom home boasts cosy and inviting single level living, close to transport and the Blackburn Lake Sanctuary. The purchasers could certainly see the benefits, with the home selling under the hammer for $826,000.

On a sun drenched block, the three bedroom Art-Deco inspired home at 442 Mitcham Road in the heart of Mitcham, also attracted five competing bidders. Auctioneer Michael Richardson knocked the property down to the successful bidder at an excellent price of $665,000.
