Fletchers Group News Update – 23 January

Happy New Year all and a warm welcome to 2013! 

It was pleasing to see some improvement in the property market in 2012, with plenty of positive signs emerging for 2013 for both buyers and sellers. We should certainly see a steady increase in real estate activity, with auction weekends returning in full force from the beginning of next month.

There has been a post-holiday surge in attendance at open for inspections this month. Fletchers Whitehorse agent, Michael Richardson, has already had a whopping 97 groups through the bedroom timber home at 123 Surrey Road in Blackburn! Scheduled for auction on the 2nd of February, it is a great start to both the campaign and the year. 

Tori McGregor from our Balwyn North Office also had a solid 25 groups through the newly listed 59 Gladstone Street in Kew, including former AFL heavyweight, Barry Hall! She was also pleased to sell 48 Thompsons Street in Bulleen after a year on the market, demonstrating the commitment and persistence of a Fletchers agent. 

Up in Queensland, our Gold Coast South office recently welcomed Senior Property Consultant, Phillip Oliver, who has quickly added three great new listings in a week! It’s no wonder he has sold tens of millions of dollars of Gold Coast properties and won many awards. We welcome him to his new home at Fletchers! 

Our Bellarine Office didn’t slow down one bit over the holiday period, with several new properties coming on the market each week. One of their recent listings is the luxury home at 46 Mercer Street in Queenscliff, which offers immaculate presentation and luxurious quality only a short stroll to shops, cafes and beaches. Inspection is a must! 

On the property management front, a vacancy rate of 2.3 per cent was recorded over the month of December last year. For the New Year so far, Fletchers has achieved a vacancy rate of between 1 – 1.25 per cent.
