What a day in real estate on the weekend! It was a ‘Super Saturday’, as over 1,400 auctions were called across Victoria.

Fletchers network of offices had over 40 auctions scheduled for this busy weekend. We achieved a success rate of 80%, a total of 33 properties sold, well above the industry average for the weekend.


The exceptional residence at 19 Fuchsia Street in Blackburn went under the hammer on Saturday. The charismatic weatherboard is surrounded by provincial inspired gardens and boasts expansive windows in every room, high ceilings, ornate cornices and Brushbox timber flooring. Located in one of Blackburn’s most coveted street, this four bedroom home attracted four keen bidders on auction day. The home achieved a fantastic final sale price, well above reserve.

The original two bedroom weatherboard home at 37 Cloyne Street in Highett is the perfect project for keen renovators. Set on a low maintenance corner block, the home is within walking distance to transport, shops and schools. The home had an impressive six bidders eyeing off the opportunity for renovation or rebuild. The home sold for $791,000, an impressive $151,000 over reserve.

The contemporary home offers exciting potential to extend (STCA) or enjoy the large backyard. On auction day there were four bidders hoping to secure the property, and it was sold for $655,000.

The impressive double storey home at 10 Garwain Parade in Glen Waverley has been solely owner occupied since 1971. The home is designed for entertaining with a renovated kitchen, tiled meals area and family room with backyard access to a covered alfresco area. Auction day saw this home sell for $1.138 million.

Located in a quiet street close to a range of amenities, this home features a light and bright, flowing floorplan that leads to a spacious rear alfresco area setting with complete vernadah, lawn and easy care garden. There were five bidders on auction day who were eager to secure a new home. It was sold for $1.005 million.

A period beauty, 1 Albert Street in Surrey Hills sits on the corner of two tree lined streets, offering visual appeal and a location to excite.  The weatherboard Edwardian feature five bedooms, formal and informal living zones, soaring ceilings and Baltic pine floorboards that complement the substantial living room with open fire place. A glistening white kitchen streams outside to a verandah and tranquil backyard. The stylishly modernised home attracted a range of families looking to move to an ideal neighbourhood, close to a range of schools, shops and transport. Six bidders fought competitively to secure this home, helping it reach a final sale price of $2.266 million.
