Fletchers Group News Update – 26 March

March 26th 2012

Whilst our Queensland counterparts were busy voting in their state election, it certainly started to feel like winter was starting to descend upon Victoria over the weekend!

The auction clearance rate recorded in Victoria was 61 per cent, with Fletchers achieving a slightly higher success rate of 67 per cent. As noted by the REIV, the level of demand seen is consistent with the performance of the market over the last two months, providing an indication about how it will perform over the winter months.

A number of auctions attracted several bidders, particular in Balwyn North which saw both 58 Walnut Road and 9 Tower Road sell under the hammer with fierce competition between five bidders each!

A solid mix of people also showed up to witness the auction of 6/47 Kent Road, Surrey Hills on the weekend including buyers, potential buyers, neighbours, locals, onlookers, friends and family members. They saw it sell for $870,000 and both the vendor and purchaser are thrilled. As the agents, Tim Heavyside and Jennifer Ellett observed, it was another example of perfect real estate!

In other news, the latest Fletchers Quarterly News Update is now available, featuring Executive Chairman Tim Fletcher’s commentary on the marketplace, rental property, market outlook and general news. If you want to keep up to date with the world of real estate, this is a great place to start! You can see this and many other property and informative videos on the Fletchers You Tube Channel.

At last Thursday’s REIA Awards, whilst we did not leave with any of the silver, we were amongst the real estate elite – not only by being nominated for the awards but by having multiple nominations that placed us in a category of only three or four firms across the entire country. We were thrilled to be recognised as finalists for both Best Agency and Best Agent, as we continue to strive for best practice real estate in everything we do.

We hope that you have enjoyed our latest news update as much as we enjoy providing it for you.

Enjoy the rest of your week!
