27th July 2014 / Rob Fletcher: Fletchers Group News Update – 28 July

We experienced a cold and wet auction day over the weekend, but that didn't deter buyers or spectators from attending auctions and open for inspections!

The REIV recorded a clearance rate of 73% over the weekend, compared to 69% on the same weekend last year. Fletchers had another great day under the hammer, achieving a 100% success rate for the second consecutive week!

Immaculately maintained and set over two levels, the four bedroom, two bathroom home at 2 Marcellin Road in Bulleen proved popular throughout its marketing campaign. Auctioneer Jason Salan fielded bid from six competing parties who pushed this property's sale price well above reserve to $1,123,500. Our vendor, Barbara, built the home in 1978 with her husband and was thrilled with the result!

Rob Sheahan achieved another fantastic result with the sale of the three bedroom, two bathroom home at 3 Van Dieman Avenue, Nunawading. A large crowd braved the cold to witness the auction, which was hotly contested between three parties. Bidding was quick and Rob swiftly declared the home sold for $762,000.

Michael Richardson was pleased that the rain held off for the auction of 18 Nara Road in Mitcham. Offering three bedrooms, two bathrooms and features such as elevated street views from the lounge and dining, plus a sunny courtyard, it is not hard to see why this home generated so much interest! Four bidders competed to secure the property, which sold for $775,000 – a fantastic result for Michael, his vendors and the purchasers!

Mark and Rob Fletcher weren't so lucky with rain for the auction of 65 Argyll Street in Malvern East. The wet weather didn't stop the action however, with four bidders contending for the renovated four bedroom, two bathroom home. Bursting with features such as covered alfresco with views, north-facing garden and fully self contained accommodation downstairs, this property offers first-class family living. The home sold for an undisclosed price.
