Fletchers Group News Update – 3 November

November 2nd 2014

After enjoying some glorious and welcome sunshine on Friday, the weather proved to be a bit hit and miss when it came to auction day! Luckily the inclement conditions did nothing to deter prospective buyers and, despite lower auction numbers due to the Melbourne Cup long weekend, Fletchers achieved an impressive success rate of 100%.

The REIV recorded a clearance rate of 69% from the 196 auctions that were called. As the month of October comes to an end, it is amazing to reflect that nearly 4,600 auctions took place; 5% more than the same month last year.

A stand out sale in October was that of 20-24 Masons Road, which achieved a record as the highest residential sale in Blackburn. Sold prior to auction, this record breaking property offers five bedrooms, three bathrooms, marble kitchen as well as wine cellar and stunning manicured gardens. This one of a kind home is situated on a landholding of more than 3,000 sq m!

Under the hammer over the weekend was 55 Rocklea Road in Bulleen. There were five bidders hoping to secure this spacious four bedroom, two bathroom, family home that is ideal for any keen renovator. This property sold at auction for $832,000; a price well above expectations.

A two bedroom unit with private courtyard in Camberwell, 1/15 Glyndon Road had three bidders hoping to secure the property. This low maintenance unit offered the perfect opportunity for investors or those looking to downsize. The three competing bidders helped the property to sell for $677,000 at auction.

The 5km walk will begin at Central Park, commencing at 10am with plenty of time for celebrations afterwards. Register as an individual or group to help raise awareness and show your support for the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation. If you can’t make it on the 23rd, you can still show your support by doing a solo walk and getting family and friends to sponsor you.
