4th July 2016: Fletchers Group News Update 4 July

It was a quiet weekend of auctions due to the Federal Election. A welcome break from the record breaking June auction weekends, but a little disappointing that we were left without a result!

The REIV reported a clearance rate of 73 per cent over the weekend with 181 auctions reported. In June, a new record was set for a single weekend with a total of 993 auctions held. This new record is 40 more than the previous.

The Fletchers network of offices had a quieter weekend, achieving a 66% success rate.

The well-presented Art Deco apartment at 1/18 Ellemere Road in Windsor went under the hammer on Saturday. The spacious and sunny floorplan of this apartment is perfect for entertaining and features north facing living with open fire, separate dining and refurbished kitchen. The home includes highlights such as polished floorboards, large picture windows and high ceilings with cornice detailing. Also included is a single car garage and a communal courtyard. Auction day saw four bidders hoping to purchase and the two bedroom apartment was sold under the hammer, for $759,000.

Sold before auction day, the renovated villa unit at 2/2 Aylwin Avenue in Burwood has been renovated and is ready for living. A mix of indoor/outdoor living and entertaining, this two bedroom home offer open plan living that overlooks the front yard, renovated kitchen and casual dining area that opens to a private deck. The low maintenance home was sold to keen purchasers prior to auction for $604,000.
