We experienced some gorgeous sunshine and warm weather on Saturday; perfect beach weather for all the Melbourne water lovers out there!

Fletchers Eastern suburb offices achieved another great auction weekend, with a 100% success rate from the few auctions scheduled once again. The REIV reported a clearance rate of 79% for Victoria after 333 auctions resulted in a sale. More auctions took place than expected, with 421 reported to the REIV—that’s 158 more than the same time last year! The Domain group highlighted that the results of the new year have so far lined up closely with December 2016, creating a positive outlook for 2017.

 

 

 

 

The new owners of 1/32 Alwyn Street, Mitcham will enjoy leafy and tree-lined surroundings from their three bedroom, two bathroom unit. The home is ideal for entertainers, with a large lounge room, open dining area and a private courtyard. On auction day there were four bidders, with the home selling for $812,000.

The auction resulted in an impressive sale price of $930,000.

The three bedroom, weather board home at 4 Horkings Street, Blackburn South is close to shops, transport, Orchard Grove and a selection of schools. Internally there are formal and informal living zones, three bedrooms, one bathroom and a well sized kitchen. With opportunities for home owners to renovate or build their dream home (STCA), it’s no surprise the property had four keen bidders at auction, resulting in the closing price of $1.23 million.

The Reserve bank are set to make a decision on interest rates tomorrow, and are expected to keep them on hold for the fifth consecutive month. The Domain Group predicts that new listings will increase dramatically from the end of February—so get ready for some changes, buyers!

Even the heat didn’t prevent buyers from attending 2/247 Elgar Road’s auction, as you can see from Tim Heavyside and the vendors’ smiling faces!
