5th November 2013 / Ben Williams: Fletchers Group News Update – 6 November

The brilliant sunshine combined with the energy of Spring racing demonstrated why Melbourne is consistently ranked as one of the world's most liveable cities. We hope that you had a wonderful break for Cup Day and backed a winner!

Property also proved to be a drawcard for punters, with attendance at open for inspections still high. The REIV recorded a clearance rate of 71%, compared to 64% on the same weekend last year. Auction numbers were low across the state; however Fletchers were pleased to achieve a success rate of 100% and there were some results that did go above and beyond expectations!

Director Rob Sheahan conducted a fantastic auction in the hot sun, with the north-facing, single storey property at 4 Ayr Street in Blackburn South on offer. Primed for development or renovation (STCA), the three bedroom home boasted plenty of potential! He was thrilled to knock it down at $721,000 – an impressive $91,000 over the vendor's reserve.

In other news, Fletchers are thrilled to be a major sponsor of Hartwell Primary in Camberwell. With Christmas shopping just around the corner, be sure to mark the 28th of November in your calendar as they are having their fantastic Twilight Market. It is such a lovely way to shop and add special gifts to your Christmas stockings!

It is set to be another big weekend of auctions this Saturday, with the REIV expecting over 1,000 to be called. Keep up to date with the results with Fletchers live Twitter feed!

We hope you have a fantastic week!
