Fletchers Group News Update – 6 October

October 6th 2014

After a quiet weekend due to the Grand Final, the number of properties going under the hammer will continue to increase throughout October, culminating in close to 4,000 auctions for the month!

The sun shone all day on Saturday, making it the perfect weather for buyers to search for their dream home. The REIV recorded a success rate of 73%, compared to 70% on the same weekend last year.

A standout sale on the day was achieved by our Maroondah team, who saw seven bidders compete for the bright family home at 6 Ireland Street in Ringwood. A record result for a residential home in the area, prospective purchasers could see the value in the options to renovate, extend, subdivide or redevelop (STCA)! A large crowd of around 150 turned out to see auctioneer Reilly Waterfield field bids until the final result of $1.05 million was achieved!

The delightful three bedroom home at 33 Massey Street, Box Hill South drew four bidders from the crowd. Freshly painted and newly carpeted, it presented a perfect opportunity for families, with its convenient location close to a long list of first class schools. Auctioneer Tim Heavyside worked the crowd and handled the bidding with ease, declaring the property sold at $875,000.

In another great result for the area, the stylishly modernised four bedroom home at 4 Delfin Court in Glen Waverley sold under the hammer for $1.08 million. Set in landscaped gardens in a quiet court position, the home boasts open plan living spaces on both levels and is within walking distance to schools and transport.

Fletchers are thrilled to be named as finalists in all categories we nominated for, at the upcoming 2014 REIV Awards for Excellence. A glittering event held at Crown, it showcases the best of the property industry and celebrates leading real estate agency practices. We are very excited – best of luck to all nominees, including our own Tim Heavyside for Residential Sales Person of the Year (Principals), Traci Stella for Residential Sales Person of the Year (Non-Principals), fletchers.net.au as Best Website finalist and the Fletchers Group, Large Residential Agency of the Year finalist.
