6th July 2014 / Daiman Kane: Fletchers Group News Update – 7 July

The REIV recorded a clearance rate of 74% over the weekend, compared to 68% on the same weekend last year. Auction volumes were low due to the school holidays, with 347 auctions reported across Melbourne. In 2014 thus far, $9.8 billion worth of homes have been sold – 41% higher than this point last year, and well surpassing the previous peak of $8.9 billion during the same period in 2010.

Fletchers had some great sales over the weekend, including the superb three bedroom, two bathroom villa home at 14 Elizabeth Street in Doncaster East. Immaculately maintained throughout, with formal living and open-plan kitchen/family/meals, it is not hard to see the attraction of this property. An incredible seven parties bid in the hopes of securing the light-filled and fresh family home. The property sold for $850,000, a great result for Robin Waterbury, his vendors and the purchasers.

Daiman Kane and Mike Dehnert experienced another result with the auction of the five bedroom, three bathroom home at 98 Cityview Road in Balwyn North. The generous family accommodation is enhanced by stylish fittings and finishes, elegant formal living or dining, spacious kitchen/family meals and tiered alfresco deck. This fabulous home sold over the weekend for an undisclosed price.

Wanting an escape from the Melbourne winter weather? Daniel O'Regan from our Eltham office found the perfect way to do just that, heading up to the Gold Coast on the weekend. However it wasn't all beaches and relaxation, with Daniel competing in the Gold Coast Airport Marathon! Completing the race in 3 hours and 22 minutes, it was just a 'quiet little jog' according to Daniel! Wishing you could get involved? Melbourne has its own marathon on Sunday 12th October, which includes the full and half marathon, 10km and 5km run and the 3km walk! For more information, click here.
